Lake Como at Dawn
Lake Como in the first light of morning, as the lake awakens to the light of the new day: an hour and a half aboard a private boat, with the captain all to yourselves. At dawn Lake Como is a different lake: the water is calm, the villages are still quiet and the villas overlook the water in a stillness that is hard to find during the day. Endless Lario goes beyond the usual itineraries: from the most celebrated villas of the central lake to the wildest and most surprising views towards Nesso, with just the right time to enjoy every stop. Along the way we will also see the charming Villa La Gaeta. The cruise starts from the central lake, with departures from Varenna, Bellagio, Lenno, Tremezzo and Menaggio. From the water we will admire Villa Cipressi and Villa Monastero, then Villa Melzi with its gardens overlooking the lake, until we reach Villa del Balbianello. Here, if you wish, we can stop for about 40 minutes to visit it at your leisure: the stop is optional and you decide whether to make it. There is a way of experiencing Lake Como that knows no hurry: a day that flows slowly among historic villas, waterfront villages and the authentic flavours of local cuisine. The Villas & Flavours of the Lake tour gives you four hours with the boat and the captain all to yourselves. We set sail from Varenna and, leaving Villa Cipressi and Villa Monastero behind, cross the lake towards Bellagio and the gardens of Villa Melzi. On the western shore Villa del Balbianello awaits, where we can stop to visit it (entrance ticket not included). We will continue past the elegance of Villa La Cassinella and the grandeur of Villa Balbiano, then along the Lezzeno shoreline to the spectacular Nesso Waterfall, and further south to elegant Cernobbio. On the way back we will skirt Isola Comacina, the only island on Lake Como, and then Lenno, Tremezzo and Villa Carlotta. At midday the choice is yours: stop to explore and stroll through the streets of one of the lake villages, or treat yourselves to lunch at one of the finest restaurants on the lake to taste its traditional dishes: La Tirlindana in Sala Comacina, the traditional Crotto del Misto, the Crotto dei Pescatori or the Aurora. That Branch of Lake Como
"That branch of Lake Como, which turns toward the south, between two unbroken chains of mountains...": with these words begins The Betrothed (I Promessi Sposi), and it is precisely along that branch that this tour takes you. One hour aboard a private boat, with the captain all to yourselves, discovering the Lecco side of the lake. We set sail from Lecco, the city nestled among majestic mountains and made immortal by the pages of the novel. With Under the Stars of Lake Como there is no need to worry about traffic, parking or ferry timetables: we pick you up directly from the village, hotel or villa where you are staying and take you across the lake to the restaurant or event of your choice. At the end of the evening we bring you comfortably back to your starting point, in the stillness of the lake at night. It is not a tour as such, but a private service designed for your evenings: a romantic dinner, a party, a special celebration or simply the pleasure of arriving in an elegant and unforgettable way. And if the night invites you to linger on the water, we can take you on a cruise across the lake in the dark, for as long as you wish: the lights of the villages glittering along the shore, the silence of the lake and the night sky above you. Just contact us to arrange it. The service is available in the evening only. The minimum duration is 3 hours: about one hour of navigation for the outward and return trips, plus the time you spend at the restaurant or event. Is the price displayed per boat or per person ?
The price you see is per boat per hour up to a maximum of 5 people,for each additional person there is a surcharge . Pickup options at specific points will change the price . During the reservation ,before confirming the reservation, you will be able to check the price for the specific number of passengers , drinks ,extras and the various options selected.
What happens in case of bad weather?
The captain has the right to cancel, postpone or discontinue any vessel service based on weather conditions and his professional judgment. Generally, if there is light rain, the boat has a retractable roof to keep you dry and heating on board to keep you warm and services proceed normally. However, in the event of heavy rain, thunderstorms or rough water caused by strong winds, the captain will use his own experience and knowledge of the performance of the boat and lake to determine whether the service can be performed safely or whether it should be cancelled. Decisions regarding cancellations are at the sole discretion of the captain. If you cancel due to lack of sun, the deposit will not be refunded. Refund Policy: If the service is cancelled due to bad weather from Lario water taxi, you will receive a full refund. Deferrals or postponements to a different date are subject to the availability of the boat and the agreement with the customer. This clause is only valid if started by Lario water taxi . These decisions are made based on the actual water conditions on the day of service. You will be notified by email or phone call, if at the last minute due to a sudden change in weather conditions. Lake Como's weather can change quickly due to the Alps.
What's included? Are there any additional costs?
The base rate includes a private local captain, fuel and fresh water on board and transaction fees. No surprise: all extras are chosen and approved by you first.
Where can you pick us up , city piers, hotels or villa piers?
We can take you anywhere on Lake Como as long as there is a public or private pier. For hotel or villa docks, the guest only needs to request permission from the property , for some pick-up points there is a surcharge because to organize the tour with a pickup different from the default one there are different travel times and organization to manage
Is there a bathroom on board the boat ?
No, there is no toilet on board.
