About This Tour
"That branch of Lake Como, which turns toward the south, between two unbroken chains of mountains...": with these words begins The Betrothed (I Promessi Sposi), and it is precisely along that branch that this tour takes you. One hour aboard a private boat, with the captain all to yourselves, discovering the Lecco side of the lake.We set sail from Lecco, the city nestled among majestic mountains and made immortal by the pages of the novel. As we move away from the shore, the city reveals itself from a unique perspective, with the surrounding peaks mirrored in the water. Our route reaches Pescarenico, Lecco's historic fishing village, famous for being mentioned in The Betrothed itself, before crossing toward Malgrate and passing by the Rocca di Malgrate.
We continue along the shore past the Fornace di Tripoli and skirt the rock walls of Moregallo, until we reach Mandello del Lario, a truly charming village on the water, to be admired at leisure from the lake. The cruise goes on toward Abbadia Lariana and, on the way back, passes the Statue of San Nicolò on the Lecco lakefront, before returning to our starting point.
